Lord Nrsimhadeva at ISKCON NAIROBI

Appearance of the Great Protector

Lord Nrsimhadeva is the fourth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, appearing in the form of a half-man, half-lion to protect His dear devotee Prahlada Maharaja and to destroy the demoniac Hiranyakasipu. He is worshipped by devotees as the Great Protector who removes all obstacles on the path of spiritual progress.

At ISKCON Nairobi, we celebrate Nrsimha Caturdasi with great vigor and devotion. The festivities include an ecstatic Maha-Abhisheka (bathing ceremony), dynamic kirtans, and a discussion on the transcendental qualities of the Lord. Devotees pray to Lord Nrsimhadeva to cleanse their hearts of all "demoniac" tendencies such as anger, greed, and envy.

Participation in Nrsimha Seva is said to grant protection from negative influences and provide the spiritual strength necessary to face life's challenges with courage and faith.
